Dear University of Cambridge, I am an Information Technology teacher that is currently teaching the new A-Level Information Technology syllabus that was introduced in sessions. In the theory section for the A2, there is a lot of ambiguous references as "WAN protocols and LAN protocols", impact of IT on e-business and impact of emerging technologies on organizations. These don't specify specific topics and concepts that need to be studied, and your "Endorsed for full syllabus coverage" textbook doesn't seem to have a clue either as there are a lot of concepts and protocols which are well within the scope of the requirements but aren't clearly stated as HDLC, frame relaying and EDI, that have come in the past two examinations series but weren't explicitly mentioned in the syllabus or the textbook.
Is it possible for Cambridge Assessment to provide additional material which further defines the scope of each topic that is required from students, or to clarify the syllabus furthermore so that there doesn't come a day when you write in your examination report, and I quote, "Few candidates could define 'EDI' with many merely repeating the question.

This syllabus encourages learners to become effective and discerning users of IT. It helps them to develop a broad range of IT skills, knowledge and understanding. Learners study the structure and use of IT systems within a wide range of organisations, including the use of a variety of computer networks.
As a result, learners gain an understanding of IT system life cycles, and how these affect the workplace. They also learn about the wider impact of IT on society in general. At A Level, learners also study simple programming for the web relevant to their own use of IT. It doesn't matter where you're living in the world.
