But, the carve and capture reward pools are the same. Edit: So if there are parts you haven't broken it's worth considering if you should continue fighting or capture immediately.

Monster Hunter World: Carving or Capturing – What’s Best?
As long as the horns are broken and the tail is cut, you should capture. If those parts are still whole, you should bomb them instead when the monster sleeps. This page contains information on the Monster - Uragaan.
A bipedal Brute Wyvern, the Uragaan is a large monster covered in rock hard crystals whose chin is also lined in a rock hard shell. Similar in appearance to RadobaanUrugaan also feature a tar on its belly to affix explosive rocks used against hunters.
It can tuck its chin and tail under itself, turning into a wheel that will run hunters over in a short or long roll that ends with the explosives being disengaged from its stomach. It will also use its large chin to hammer hunters into the ground, and into submission. If explosives discharged from its body are on the ground, the chin slam will detonate them. It can also emit a gas from its body that will either put the hunter to sleep if the monster is not enraged, or will do flame damage if enraged.
The versatility and power of Urugaan makes him a formidable foe. Hunters beware! Uragaan has a very similar move set to Radobaanwith a few minor additions to keep in mind. Firstly, and most obviously, there's no bones here.
Uragaan's shell is much harder than Radobaan 's simple cover of bones, and will not be so easily broken. That being said, once broken he cannot replenish his shield like Radobaan. Secondly, he will roll, spin, and slam his jaw into you just as Radobaan will. Where it gets interesting is Uragaan's ability to carry magma cores in his body as he roles. He will deploy these explosives when he rolls and then will slam his chin into the ground to set them off.
Avoid these as they will do damage, set you on fire, and blast you away. Here you will find all the information on the material gained from Uragaanmost of which can be used to make Weapons and Armor.Monster Hunter: World - How to Capture a Cactuar (Final Fantasy Crossover)

What isI n this article I will take a look at the carving and capturing mechanics in Monster Hunter World and assess which is the best option for your hunter.
Unfortunately, they are only available in Japan at the moment with no word if any official English version will be available. Back in the old Monster Hunter days it was always great to capture monsters as opposed to killing then carving them since the percentages of obtaining materials were higher. So people tend to think that method will carry over to Monster Hunter Worldalas that is not the case.
The guide books that were released by Capcom shows that the drop items and the percentages rate are identical thus leaving this decision to the hunters themselves. I personally suggest breaking all the parts you need then capture it to maximize rewards at the same time minimizing time spent in a quest.
Then players should go for tails, wings, stomachs or any other part they like. Last updated on October 21st, I n this article I will take a look at the carving and capturing mechanics in Monster Hunter World and assess which is the best option for your hunter.
Monster Hunter World: Should you carve or capture? Guides Monster Hunter World Guides. March 12, Previous Post. Next Post.
First thing you need to do is to keep attacking the monster until you've weakened it. Monsters are weakened if they get tired more often, slow down, or limp away when escaping from you. Killing a monster during a trap quest will immediately fail you. To avoid this, be aware of the monster's health and check if it is weakened enough. Once you see it limp away, follow it and lay down your traps to capture it.
Once the monster limps away or goes to sleep in its resting place, you need to use specific Traps and Tranq items to make a successful capture. Once the monster is trapped, you need to use 2 Tranq items to capture it. There is no skill known in Monster Hunter World that will increase your capture rate. However, the skill "Capture Master" increases the rewards you get for capturing monsters.
Make sure to activate this skill when completing capture quests! When you capture a monster, you'll receive more monster materials in your rewards box when you finish the quest than when you kill them.
This is an effective method to farm materials you need for a specific weapon or armor piece. Since you can capture a monster as soon as its HP falls below a certain level, you can complete the quest faster, making it an effective method to defeat tougher monsters that are harder to kill.
Currently, there is no known disadvantage to capturing monsters in MHW. It's much more recommended to capture monsters instead as you get more quest rewards and the quest ends faster. To successfully capture a monster, Hunters need specific items. These can be crafted in your Item Box in Astera but need to be put in your Pouch before you leave for your quest. If you don't have these items, you cannot capture the monster. You can see the heart rate of the monster you're fighting in the lower left corner of the screen, right next to your mini-map.
This tells you the state of the monster - the bigger the waves, the stronger it is and the smaller the wave, the weaker the monster. When the monster is aggressive and angry, you'll notice that its heart rate is large and erratic. Use this as a clue to determine the remaining strength of the monster that you're facing. When the waves in the monster's heart rate becomes smaller and almost calm, this means that it's ready for capture.
You can set down your traps and use your tranqs to capture the monster! When you've tracked the monster a lot and picked up many of its traces, you'll be able to see a skull next to its icon on the mini-map when it's close to dying.
If you're aiming to capture the monster, it's best to check the mini-map for the skull. It's possible to use tranq bombs or ammo right before laying the trap. If you hit the monster when it's asleep with tranq bombs and then lay down the trap, you'll be able to capture it immediately. Monsters such as the Diablos like to bury into the ground and jump up from it.
If they jump up into the trap, they will destroy it so be aware of where you place the trap when facing monsters like the Diablos. If a Turf War happens and there is a trap in the middle of it, the trap will get destroyed.
